26.01. – 22:00 CET Kobanê under Attack on Day of Liberation

Despite the “ceasefire”, HTS, ISIS, and the Turkish State continue their war against Kobanê, resulting in a massacre. In the village of Xirab Ishk near Kobanê, five people were murdered, including two children.
In the region of Cizîrê the mercenaries tried to advance towards Çilaxa. With latest developments every city of Rojava became front line.
Guerrilla Commander Murat Karayilan explained the “ceasefire”, stating that it was demanded by the USA to deal with the ISIS prisoners and prisons. But as soon as the USA finishes their project, the war will continue with full intensity. Consequently international action is needed now to prevent the genocidal attacks.
Siege on Kobanê continues
On the 11. anniversary of the liberation of Kobanê from ISIS the city is once again under siege by the same forces. Yesterday a convoi of 24 UN-Trucks entered Kobanê, delivering blankets, ready-to-eat meals and other essentials. Despite this aid the living conditions in the city remain precarious. Inside of the city 150.000 civilians remain trapped and besieged by both the HTS-Militias as well as the Turkish army, which is digging trenches to further isolate the city.
The first step to break the siege is to establish a humanitarian corridor, which can be achieved through international pressure.
Medicine reached Rojava
Today, a delegation consisting of parliamentarians and political party representatives brought medicine from South Kurdistan to Qamishlo. Also food and aid is planned to be delivered in the near future.
The Iraqi Kurdish politician Elî Heme Salih said: “It is vitally important for Kurds to support each other during these difficult times.” He also said about the uprisings in Europe and South Kurdistan, that the “actions have had a great impact. These actions must continue until the ceasefire becomes permanent. Everyone must set aside their differences and act with a unified stance.”
Kobanê Action Day
To break the siege of Kobanê and celebrate the resistance on the anniversary of its liberation, numerous actions took place in Europe. Especially universities as well as the bureaus of political parties and institutions were occupied. The politicians who collaborate with the jihadist regime were hold accountable and the actions were met by numerous banner drops, showing to the public that Kobanê was and continues to be a fortress of resistance and a beacon of hope.
