Internationalist Youth Delegation arrested
An internationalist delegation of youth organizations, activists and journalists has been arrested in Northern Kurdistan by Turkish police forces. The delegation was part of the “People’s Caravan to defend humanity” going via different routes to northern Kurdistan to reach Kobanê.
Before their arrest they had followed the protests in Northern Kurdistan against the ongoing attacks in Rojava and met with civil society and political actors.
After their arrest they are now threatened by deportation.
At the same time the car convoy of the “People’s Caravan to defend humanity” arrived at the border between Greece and Turkey. There the Caravan was stopped and denied entry into Turkey. They now call to continue increasing the pressure on Turkey and the international community to end the attacks in Northeastern Syria.
Attacks continue on multiple fronts
Also on the fourth day of the extended ceasefire between SDF and the socalled Interim Government of Damascus the attacks continued on multiple fronts. Especially around Hesekê and Qamişlo attacks continued.
SDF Forces thwarted multiple attempts by islamist gangs to advance toward Cil Axa as well as the christian majority region of Til Temir.
The people of North and East Syria once again demonstrated their great determination to repell all attacks today. In the neighbourhoods of Cizire and Kobanê and in many other places the people built up self-defense structures to defend their territories.
In Qamişlo the people gathered by hundreds today to commemorate 11 martyrs of the SDF, that have fallen in recent attacks.
Situation in Kobanê continues to worsen
In Kobanê, the thousands of refugees that fled from the brutal attacks of the jihadist gangs, are living in inhumane conditions. A mother, that talked to the news agency ANF said:
“We left everything behind and got on our way. We came to Kobanê. There is nothing we can put on the ground and nothing we can sleep on. 6-7 days we are here now. Still there is no place we can sleep on.”
Again dozens of actions in Brazil, Chile, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Albania and many other countries have proven the international responsibility to break the siege on Kobanê and stop the attacks on the DAANES that democratic movements feel worldwide.
