A curfew has been declared in Hesekeh from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. The delegation is accompanied by the internal security forces of the SDF. Officially, the delegation’s aim is to monitor the integration of the local security forces (Asayiş) into the “Ministry of the Interior”. The delegation held a meeting with the local authorities at around 3:30 PM local time at the Traffic Dictorate in Hasakeh.

A curfew has been declared for the city of Qamishlo from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time tomorrow. Another delegation from the “Ministry of Interior” is expected to arrive.

Governor of Hesekeh and Deputy Defense Minister appointed

Nureddin Ahmed was officially announced governor of Hesekeh by the DAANES. Today, he headed to Damascus to discuss matters with the self-proclaimed STG. Ahmed was the commander of the SDF’s public relations office and has been active in DAANES institutions since 2012.

Mazloum Abdi proposed Çiya Kobanê as Deputy Minister of Defense. Currently, Çiya Kobanê is part of the SDF’s general commandership and has been a long-term military commander in the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Humanitarian Aid still blocked to enter Kobanê

Although the second phase of the agreement has begun, humanitarian aid is still being blocked from entering Kobanê. A convoy intended to deliver fuel, medicine, milk, and baby formula to Kobanê’s population is being prevented from crossing the Turkish-Syrian border in the Suruç district of Urfa. Pressure on the Turkish state must remain high to break the siege on Kobanê as soon as possible.
