Mass protest in Silêmani
Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in Silêmanî today at 14:30 to hold a mass protest in support of the resistance in Rojava. The march was attended by political and civil activists, writers, journalists, artists, union representatives, women, young people, and citizens coming from all parts of society.
Despite officially being canceled due to snow and cold, hundreds of thousands of people participated in the march, which ended at 17:30.
Humanitarian aid blocked
“Access for humanitarian actors is severely restricted or completely blocked in large parts of Northern and Eastern Syria. Supplies to prisons and detention centers holding thousands of ISIS prisoners are also not guaranteed. The blockade of supply routes is further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and poses considerable security risks,” said Khaled Dervish the representative of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in Germany.
Kobanê: Siege and humanitarian crisis
The situation in Kobanê is particularly dramatic, where around 150,000 people are effectively trapped by the military siege of the Syrian army, Islamist militias, and Turkish occupiers.
The humanitarian situation is correspondingly dire: escape routes are blocked, electricity and water supplies are largely interrupted, there are shortages of food, fuel, and medicine, and access for humanitarian organizations is restricted or completely blocked. And all this after the Snowfall from last night. Many families are forced to sleep outdoors or in their vehicles. Internet and communication services have also been severely restricted in the last days.
On top of that – Kobane remains besieged. No water, electricity nor food is allowed to enter the city.
This is enforced by the Syrian transitional government – per an official statement, they claim that they are unable to provide Kobane with water electricity due to damages at the station which they “can not repair due to the ongoing conflict” – this is evidently false as the water pump and electricity station have been placed under a STG civil authority since the clashes began in Manbij.
Abdi: “We will work with all our strength to achieve real integration and maintain the ceasefire.”
Yesterday in the late evening the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazlum Abdi, gave a statement on X on the current situation in Syria.
The Statement was given after a high-level meeting with US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack and CENTCOM-Admiral Brad Cooper in Hewler, in the Kurdish Region of Iraq. He described the meeting as a “constructive and productive exchange”. Concrete steps after the meeting have not been pulished until now.
Syrian Government spreads disinformation about the situation in Hassakeh city
Right now a narrative is being created – headline after headline of claims that Kurds are killing the Arabs in Hassakeh. The Syrian Government is using pictures and videos from Raqqa and Deirezzor and falsely attributes them to Hassakeh. Verified reports were recieved of Kurdish families in Raqqa being rounded up and executed. Similar scenes are reported in the countryside of Sarrin and the areas seized by the so called Syrian transitional government in Hassakeh province.
‘The Syrian military is very proudly sharing these photos and videos on social media.

People are fleeing the jihadist HTS attacks
According to the representative office, more than 170,000 people have been displaced from their homes since the beginning of January, 18,000 of them from Raqqa and Tabqa within just a few days. Many people are seeking refuge, especially in the canton of Cizîrê. Religious institutions and community initiatives are trying to provide makeshift assistance, but are reaching their limits.
