How Corruption & Racism Aggravate the Consequences of the Earthquake

Understanding and disentangling human and political responsibilities in disasters of the
magnitude of the earthquake that struck tens of thousands of people on February 6 is as
complex as it is necessary. It has been proven for a long time that for similar natural events
the human consequences vary.
Alarmed by the testimonies of many victims, we have made inquiries that reveal old and new abuses in the Southeast of Turkey (depending on the government in Ankara). Some elements related to the different Turkish administrations seem important to us and are the subject of this text.
